The era of online search means it's easy to find a list of holiday parks that sit neatly by the beach. Finding the quality places from the quantity is a whole different challenge. Using all the wisdom and knowledge of our fabulous teams both at our HQ and on the parks themselves, we’ve put together this ultimate list of parks that guarantee you a top caravan holiday near the beach.
Say goodbye to airport hassle and hello to an easy journey to memories that last a lifetime. Dotted up and down the country, you’re never too far from one of these seaside gems, making this timeless staycation option as accessible and hassle-free as ever. Whether you choose to immerse yourself in the park’s activities and entertainment on a Stay+Play holiday, or simply book your accommodation with our Stay experience, you’ll be basing yourself at one of the UK’s best caravan parks near the beach.
Hosting holidaymakers in one shape or form since 1906, Caister-on-Sea sits neatly on Norfolk’s North Sea coast, with what can only be described as privileged access to the beach that’s its neighbour. The golden sand is as glorious as it is generous here, giving guests a great playground for some proper seaside fun. Whether you’re coming as a couple, or with multiple generations of loved ones, the beach is all-year round attraction. Sandy and pebbly, it’s just steps from all Caister’s accommodation, confirming its position as one of the best caravan parks on the beach and one of the greatest spots for a seaside caravan holiday. The delightful Deck Houses are a big unique selling point here.
With a whole host our activities and entertainment bookable on a Stay+Play Haven holiday, you’ll be spoilt for choice even when you step away from the sand. You’re not short for restaurants or places to visit either, with glorious Great Yarmouth another beach destination a stone’s throw down the coast.
Perran Sands, Cornwall
A premier place of ours, Perran Sands Holiday Park is a gate to one of the greatest seaside spots in Cornwall. Occupying a lovely position on the north Cornish coast, it’s a hub of surfing, producing some of the finest waves nationwide. The beach itself is sandy and accessible directly from the park via a picturesque pathway from the top of cliffs down to sea level. Whether you’re coming or going from the beach, the journey to and from the park is short and handy. Perran hosts a whole range of accommodation, from caravans near the beach to some magnificent glamping options. Yurts, Geo Domes and Safari Tents are all on hand to give you a great base for your holiday near the beach.
A Stay+Play holiday gives you the chance to try surfing with our experts for yourself, along with a whole host of other bookable free and paid experiences. There’s a fantastic Surf Bay restaurant onsite, serving the best seaside food made with fine local produce, and to expand the options even further, Perranporth village is just south of all the Haven action, well worth a visit and a great snapshot of daily life in Cornwall.
Thorpe Park, Lincolnshire
Lovely Lincolnshire is illustrated in all its glory by our Thorpe Park surroundings, yet another destination in the Haven family with direct access to the beach. Looking out at the North Sea, it gives guests ample space to stretch out and make the most of the seaside in any way they please. To the right of the park, you’ll see islands of sand created by low tide, adding another element to what a stunning horizon is.
You’re never too far from your caravan accommodation either, making Thorpe Park the go-to park in the county for a beach holiday. There’s a whole host of activities and entertainment to be booked when you Stay+Play, and simply staying here is a great base for exploring what must be one of the UK’s most underrated counties. The Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway is a particular favourite of ours, giving you access to even more beaches and bastions of seaside fun like the town the line is named after.
Reighton Sands and Primrose Valley, Yorkshire
These two Yorkshire delights are equally great for a caravan holiday by the beach, doubling the options when you head to one this diverse and vast county. Both sit on the dune filled Hunmanby Gap, an arc that extends from the Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast in the south all the way up to the cute town of Filey in the north. A whole host of coastal delights sit along the sea in between, with a view of the vast beach always in the eyeline. Great for a walk or cycle, there’s also a direct road if you need to use your car.
Both parks offer all the great things that guests come to expect from Haven, with ravishing restaurants and a whole host of caravan accommodation to suit every budget, taste and need. All that’s left to do is choose between the two.
Seton Sands, Scotland
As one of our smaller parks, Seton Sands lets the scenery do the talking, and with good reason. The prominent beach is literally across the road, a fantastic dog friendly stretch that attracts visitors for all sorts of activities. A caravan holiday near this beach is just the ticket for windsurfing, canoeing and even some seasonal horse riding.
Located in the Firth of Forth, you’ll see Kirkcaldy across the bay on an even a dreary day, and with Edinburgh a short drive west, Seton Sands really is a base by the beach that gives you options. If you choose to Stay+Play, there’s a great golf course that sheds even more light on this lovely area. We recommend a Stay holiday at Seton, with an unrivalled variety of things to do a short drive away and more magnificence further afield.
Lydstep Beach, South Wales
The clue is in the name. Last but definitely not least in this list, Lydstep is one of our most popular parks for an escape from the hustle and bustle by the beach. It’s in one of the best locations of any Haven park, in the heart of popular Pembrokeshire. The county has become a hub for holidaymakers in recent years, and a stay in the fantastic accommodation here puts you right in the thick of the options.
You’ll be steps away from the sand and the dramatic site of Caldey Island in the distance, confirming your place in one of the UK’s premier staycation spots. Marvellous Tenby is only a short drive to the north. Its historic castle basks in glory whatever the weather, and endless options westwards from Lydstep too, the beaches and attractions keep on coming.
