What our team and owners love about Norfolk
You could take a day tip to Norwich to enjoy the Castle, Cathedral and the city atmosphere.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome at How Hill Trust's secret gardens, which are open to the public most days and are free to enter!
Off park, younger children will love Pettitts Adventure Park. They have rides and animal attractions as well as play areas.
Dogs can stretch their legs with a walk on the beach, or explore a woodland or Norfolk Broads walk.
Little ones will love Play Stax, an indoor play area in Gorleston; Africa Alive zoo in Lowestoft,; Jump Warehouse trampoline park; Joyland amusement rides and the Sea Life Centre in Great Yarmouth.
One of the most popular attractions to visit has to be BeWILDerwood, which is an exciting day out for both younger and older families. And no visit to the park would be complete without a visit to Great Yarmouth: a great day out for all the family, with a range of attractions including the Pleasure Beach.
You can take a walk to Gorleston Beach. The main part of the beach does not permit dogs during peak season, but there is still a long promenade and length of beach further up where dogs are welcome. You can also walk to Burgh Castle Roman Fort via a towpath alongside the river. There is a lovely pub next to the marina called The Fisherman's Inn which provides a refreshment stop on the way to the fort, and also permits dogs.
The promenade at Gorleston Beach is a beautiful place to walk in the winter and the golden sands are a great place to spend the day in the summer. There are also some beautiful historic houses and gardens in the area including Somerleyton Hall which is less than 10 miles away.
Walk to Gorleston-on-Sea, 30 minutes away from the park. There is a lovely Doggy Diner.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is great for adrenaline seekers. There are also some lovely woodland walks through Fritton Woods, or you can take a stroll down Great Yarmouth seafront.

“It's a home-from-home experience for us, an opportunity for us to spend some quality time together as a family. Whether it be for a weekend or week, it's always a welcome break from the daily routine. We have lots of fun playing mini golf with the family and taking a bike ride on the hired bikes/carts. There's lots of wildlife about and getting to feed them is fantastic, especially the chicks!”
