The ice trays are out, and the fans are working overtime – British summertime is finally here. We all feel the struggle of keeping our spaces cool and comfortable during the heat.

Whether you’re at home in your own space or on a Haven break in a caravan, we’ve found the best tips and tricks to keep your space cool this summer!

1. Bring your own AC

Portable air-conditioning units are more accessible nowadays, meaning you can pump cool air into your caravan within seconds. Why not bring it with you on your next trip?

2. Closed windows (and blinds!)

2. Closed windows (and blinds!)

The age-old debate: windows and blinds closed, or open? Did you know that keeping your windows open in the mornings, and late evenings, can help keep your space cooler? Keeping blinds and windows shut during the daytime can block out sunrays as well as humid air, keeping your space fresh.

3. Dogs need to cool down too

We all feel the heat, and so do our dogs during the summer. Sadly, they can’t eat pup ice cream all day, but there are ways to keep them cooler. Let them feel the air from the fan and keep a spot free on some cool tiles for them to lounge. You can also use a cooling mat or damp towel for them to rest on.

4. Boost your fan with ice

You’ve got the fan out – amazing. But did you know you can level up your fan game by putting a bowl of ice in front of its air stream? This simple trick can help to push cool air around the room.

5. Use dehumidifiers

Hot, sticky and fed up – the heat comes with humidity and that’s never fun to experience. If you put out some dehumidifiers in your space, it’ll help to soak up that sticky hot air, and keep it feeling crisp and light.

6. Unplug electronics

Here’s one that shocked us all: unplugging your electronics can help cool a space down! Even when your electronics are plugged in and on standby, they’re still producing heat from the plugs and devices, which can add to the ever-growing warmth in your space.

7. Book an air-con Haven caravan
