The Dining Guide: Vegetarian
Vegetarian dishes are at the heart of culinary innovation, and we’re proud supporters of this lifestyle choice at our parks. You’ll be satisfied by the stellar dishes our restaurants serve up, whatever meat-free feast you fancy.
Whether you’re heading for the shores of Scotland, the windswept Welsh coastline or the awesome Atlantic waves of Cornwall, our restaurants provide all appetites with a place to be pleased. There’s at least one place at every park for you and your loved ones to get your teeth into, with all dietary requirements catered for. In this article, we focus on what’s on offer for vegetarians across the Haven family of locations dotted up and down the UK.
Mash and Barrel

Mash and Barrel is a signature restaurant of ours, featuring at a wide range of our parks and playing host to many great times for guests of all ages. You’ll be catered for throughout the morning, afternoon and evening by a dedicated team that brings a new meaning to great service.
As a vegetarian, you’ll be able to plan your meals without any shortcomings, such is the great choice on offer on each of Mash and Barrel’s themed menus. Best of all, you won’t need to break the bank to get a quality meal for you and the family. Let’s take you through what’s on offer for vegetarians in the morning, afternoon and evening.
Breakfast

A Mash and Barrel breakfast is a great way to start your day on staycation. The delightful and delicious meals are served until 11:30am, meaning your tastebuds are satisfied whether you’re an early riser or fancy rolling out bed a little later in the morning.
Vegetarian options include a classic breakfast with all the meat-free trimmings and Quorn sausages thrown in for extra indulgence. For something a little healthier, there’s fruit-topped pancakes or the always impressive avocado and poached egg- the 21st-century breakfast of champions!
In partnership with Smiths of London, there’s a whole host of ethically sourced, Fairtrade hot drinks on offer, as well as a wide range of fruit juices to whet your whistle too.
Lunch

When you’re done adventuring by the beautiful British seaside, you might fancy a bite for lunch. The great thing about Mash and Barrel is that dinner meals are available throughout the day and evening, so whether you fancy something indulgent or a little lighter earlier in the afternoon, there are so many options for you to choose from.
For quintessential lunch, the baguettes are famous around our parks and served from 11:30-4 for something smaller to keep you going. The three-bean chilli burrito is our vegetarian favourite and doubles up as something vegan for the middle of the day. There’s also a lovely light Italian-style salad to keep the health gods happy.
Dinner

Ultimately, dinner time is where Mash and Barrel reaches its ultimate potential. It’s simply the place to be on park for a great meal with the family, with holidaymakers, owners and the Haven team all paying a few visits! Three courses are very much on offer here, with an abundance of choice for vegetarians.
The soup of the day is always a great way to kick things off, just ask a member of the team what’s being served on your chosen day. Crispy breaded mushrooms and spicy sweetcorn fritters are two other awesome options to be had.
Whatever you’re craving, there’s a mouth-watering meat-free main to indulge in. A classic Quorn sausage and mash always go down a treat, as do our vegetarian and vegan burgers. For something a bit more aromatic, try the Malaysian-style noodles with a whole host of fresh vegetables. There’s also an incredible Thai green curry to be tried, and an authentic taste of Italy is available courtesy of the spinach and ricotta ravioli pasta.
You’re more than sorted when it comes to dessert too, with a wide range of treats to try. There’s everything from chocolate fudge cake to apple and raspberry crumble. If you’re all dairied-out, try our vegan ice cream.
Vegetarian options wherever you stay
Our parks are home to a whole host of food and drink venues, from ravishing restaurants to tasty takeaways, with a place to have a tipple of two in between. Many are unique to the park they sit on, representing the local area in real style. Each one has their own twist on vegetarian cuisine.
If you’re heading to the South West, check out Surf Bay and Bluff Inn. These two delights sit in Cornwall at our Perran Sands and Riviere Sands parks respectively and offer a whole host of vegan options. To the north, Primrose Valley’s Lakehouse restaurant is a real Yorkshire treasure.
