Three things to do on a weekend in the Lake District

    1. Explore Grange-over-Sands

Nearby Grange-over-Sands makes for a lovely day trip. Explore the independent shops and cafes housed in its traditional promenade, relax and meet the ducks in its ornamental gardens, and enjoy views over Morecambe Bay.

    2. Discover Grizedale

Beautiful Grizedale Forest is full of spectacular views and wonderful trails to explore by foot, bike, or on horseback. Discover the many sculptures dotted around, explore the latest exhibition in its visitor centre, and enjoy a picnic or a hot drink in the café.

    3. Head to Bowness-on-Windermere

Bowness is a great spot from which to explore the vast Windermere lake itself, with many a boat trip setting of from its pretty harbour. Beyond the pier, you’ll find no shortage of shops, pubs and cafes to enjoy, as well as The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction.
