Perran Sands Holiday Park

Great park, the beach is awful to get to, needs a few parking spaces near. The entertainment is great, the arcade isn't that good anymore. Pool is great especially the river. My issues are the windows on the vans need straps to open a certain distance as they fully open and it was baking last week and didn't feel safe leaving windows open. The linen was gross, we had to get replacement as all yellow over the pillows, stains on sheets and duvets

We arrived on the Monday to a lovely caravan (silver). The actual caravan itself was clean, spacious and comfortable. However, my only issue was they had placed a very wet travel cot in a bag (I am assuming after cleaning it), and it had developed an awful damp smell and mould under the mattress. Little girl had to sleep with me the very first night, whilst my partner went in the spare single bed, as receptionist was closed much earlier that put on the app and welcome sheets, and no one was around to complain to. However, we did go straight to reception the following morning and it was sorted as quickly as possible. The caravan had nothing, other than a dustpan and brush, which we weren’t quite expecting. There is a local shop that sells co-op products, which can be very overpriced at times, but does sell quite a lot for your everyday needs. You also have quite a few eating places to choose from, but not all of them are open everyday which was very surprising to us as we planned a chippy tea on the Tuesday, but the on site fish bar wasn’t open again until the Wednesday! The swimming pool itself was great! My boy absolutely loved the kiddy pool, especially since he could actually stand and play. My girl also loved it, but she couldn’t be in it long as the water was a little on the cold side. My partner went down the slide and said it was good. The only two issues I had was they told my boy he was too small for the slide, which is absolutely fine and understandable for safety reasons, but a lady in particular was letting children down who were also showing too small, and it was quite difficult to the explain to my son why he couldn’t go down. The changing rooms could also do with a regular clean considering the amount of people, as the changing table was dirty and full of talcum powder (which we do stay well away from with our children) and it resulted in me changing my daughter on the floor. We managed to do the activities on the park including build a bear and sand bottle making and found these to be very enjoyable. The entertainment was also brilliant. However, the staff did find it quite difficult at times to engage with my son, who does potentially have Autism, and it did show a bit of a divide with the other children. Particularly when he was in the line waiting very patiently for a ribbon for his bag, and the other children that got in line after my boy was seen to first and he was last (which I didn’t find very fair), and he was praised for waiting so long, so they did know he was there and waiting (bit like praising a dog and got given a treat). We really loved Peranporth itself, especially the beach. We didn’t really enjoy visiting Newquay as it’s very run down. I do recommend visiting Crantock Beach too. The arcade isn’t like it used to be, and you now have to get a card to top up, and the prices compared to the points you get are ridiculous amounts of money. We have come home 4 days early due to the small issues making us feel very out of place, and the severe weather. We won’t be back but we enjoyed making some memories on the few days we were there.

The park is in the middle of the sand dunes yes it is an older park but in one of the best locations there can be a 5 min drive to the beach with the most amazing sunset truly amazing. the park has 2 pools the outdoor one can be a bit chilly but there both nice pools all be i bit small. there are a number of places to eat and get snacks from so all in all one of the better parks we have stayed at

Loved staying at Perran Sands. The caravan was spacious (we went Silver) and planty of room for our stuff and my little one was able to crawl about and play. The floor could of done with a bit more of a clean but other than that the caravan was perfect. The baby pool was cold but we had fun. My little one did get cold very quickly though so we didnt stay long in the pool. It was easy getting around the park. I was able to push my little one around most places.

Really like the holiday experience and location of this park. All the staff were very friendly and happy to help. Food choices were good and at very reasonable prices. The evening entertainment was excellent and the return of "the tiger club" was very well received by our grandchildren. We were also lucky with the weather and had some beach time which is within walking distance from the park. The beach was fantastic. All in all a great time was had by the whole family. Definitely book to go again.
