A family break is the ideal opportunity to spend some time as a unit, giving busy families bonus time to be together. So it’s useful to know that several of our activities are ideal for the whole family, helping you to really maximise that precious time.

Below we’ll take you through our top 10 family activities – each one is subject to availability depending on the park you select for your break.

1. Kart Hire

1. Kart Hire
Hire a kart and pedal your way around the park taking in the sights as you go. (Minimum height and maximum weight restrictions apply)

Several Haven parks offer kart hire by the hour, in single, double and family options, and they are a great way to see lots of the park at once. If you need to include very small children within your booking, you’ll need to visit the on-site Activity Booking Point to arrange this, or for adults with children aged 8+, you can pre-book before you arrive at the park.

2. Pedalos

2. Pedalos

Available at a handful of holiday parks with feature lakes, Pedalos are a great, gentle activity suitable for families with children aged 2+. Thirty-minutes’ hire is included, which is ample time to explore the lakes before your legs get too tired from pedalling!

3. Swimming

3. Swimming
There are memories to be made at Berwick

A family swim is a staple of a Haven holiday, and you’ll be able to book up to 14 individual swim slots per holiday for free if you’ve booked a Haven package. You’ll get an hour of time to splash about as you wish and enjoy the pool setting. Some of our parks have fun features like tipping buckets and flumes within their indoor pool and we also have some outdoor pools, lazy rivers, splash zones, and even water parks for the ultimate swimming adventure.

4. Pic & Paint Pottery

4. Pic & Paint Pottery
During our Pic 'n' Paint Pottery session, an item is chosen and then painted to your own wonderful design before it's put in the kiln to dry

This popular creative session is open to everyone (including young at heart adults!). Choose and decorate a fun pottery item of your choice, which will then be finished off in the kiln for you to collect and take home a day or two later. It’s the perfect activity for crafty creatures big and small.

5. Bike Hire

5. Bike Hire

We have lots of options across many of our parks when it comes to bike hire, catering for ages 2 and over with a range of balance bikes, junior and adult cycles, and even e-bikes. Plus for children aged 12 months and over who can’t get their own set of wheels just yet, you can even hire a trailer so that they can join in the fun. And what better way to explore your surroundings than on a family bike ride?!

6. Footgolf

6. Footgolf

Open to all ages at a handful of parks, this gentle, participant-led activity combines football and golf as you guide a ball around a course to score in the holes. Throw in a bit of friendly competition and it’s sure to be a family favourite!

7. Crazy Golf

7. Crazy Golf
Challenge family and friends to a game of crazy golf and to see who will be the course champion

Available at several parks, you’ll find colourful crazy golf courses – each as unique and individual as the park itself! Navigate a range of obstacles and hold your nerve to putt the ball in as few shots as possible. Most of our courses are outdoor and suitable for 2+, but Craig Tara’s indoor version is suitable for all ages.

8. Batfast

8. Batfast

Square up against a virtual bowler in this new activity - available at a handful of parks - that rates your speed and reaction rates in cricket, baseball and tennis. Available for ages 6 and over, you can adjust the pace if you want a real challenge, and for particularly competitive families, you can even hire the activity privately for your own sports battle!

9. Boat Adventures

9. Boat Adventures
All aboard! Kids can become a mini skipper during Boat Adventures and (with the help of a parent crew!) roam uncharted waters

Another ideal water-based activity that’s suitable for all ages, you’ll hop aboard a small boat for 30 minutes of exploration with your trusty crew.

10. Nature Trail

Led by our knowledge park Rangers, this outdoor Discover activity is always popular with families. You’ll take in a guided tour of the park’s natural environment and learn all about the fascinating wildlife and natural features of our lovely coastal locations. A great way to get some fresh air and learn some fun facts, too.

Several of our Ranger activities are open to all ages, so they're definitely worth considering as part of your family break.
