Top 5 things to do near Primrose Valley and on park
Primrose Valley Holiday Park in Filey, North Yorkshire, is full of variety thanks to a range of on-site facilities and activities and plenty to do in the local area, too. General Manager Elma John loves the fact that the park caters to all types of holidaymakers of every generation - she gave us her tips on the best things to do while on holiday here.
1. Eat, drink, and be entertained

On the park, we have something for everyone. We're very proud of our Lakehouse restaurant which overlooks the boating lake, and our food choices in general because we're very fortunate to have all of the brands, including a new Slim Chickens and a new Costa Coffee Cart for 2023, as well as two different restaurants.

Alongside that we have the Jump, we have the Aerial Adventure high ropes, and new for 2023 we’ll also have Bungee Trampolines. So we've got fun for all ages and for those people looking for a bit of adrenaline that's all happening down there.
I think it's all about the choice at Primrose Valley because you can come here and have a very relaxing time if you want to or you can come for the full, action-packed activities and entertainments from morning through until night. There's just always something different - people could do something different every day.
2. Get out on the boating lake

The boating lake itself is one of the firm favourites because you can take out the pedalo boats which families love, and we also have instructors for various activities. So the boating lake is always very very popular.
3. Visit the beach

It's of no surprise that we’d recommend the beach because it's on our doorstep! We're really lucky, sitting in my office right I can see the sea and the clifftops. Guests are pleasantly surprised at the proximity to the beach because it's literally right there.
4. Spend the day at Playdale Farm

For families, there's a play centre called Playdale Farm, a couple of miles away near Scarborough. It's just a fun farm full of animals they can feed, there's tractor rides, and there's a play barn. It's a firm favourite for the families when they come here.
5. Visit Filey

You can walk from the park along the beach and into Filey, it's a short walk away. And if the tide's right in the coastal path is available too. There's lots of lovely restaurants in Filey, it's a very traditional seaside town - lots of fish and chips and ice creams. It's definitely a recommendation to discover Filey.
Why do you love Primrose Valley?
I think there's lots to love about all of our parks, but Primrose Valley is one where literally every generation is taken care of and for me what we do on our park and what we do as a business is all about families. Families come to the seaside for tradition, I think it's very nostalgic, and here we have families who have holidayed here for generations. It's a park that people tend to come back to.
And when people come on holiday here, you can almost see the stress relief, and I'd like to think that 99% of the time we get it right for them.
