Frequently asked questions

Great Yarmouth is one of Britain’s easternmost points, more or less the same distance from the Netherlands as it is from London.

Charles Dickens made Great Yarmouth a central part of his book David Copperfield, describing the town as the finest place in the universe!

The town’s Market Place hosts one of the oldest markets in Britain which has been in operation in one form or another since the 13th century.

Great Yarmouth is blessed when it comes to beaches. There are over 15 miles of sandy stretches, from Winterton in the north to Hopton in the south.

The Hippodrome Circus in the centre of the town is one of only two permanent buildings dedicated to circus shows in the world, hosting one of the world’s only sunken rings for water-based shows.

Great Yarmouth is full of pieces of history, including the town walls which are actually some of the most complete remaining in England.

All four of our brilliant holiday parks are dotted around Great Yarmouth. The closest is Seashore Holiday Park, which sits opposite uninterrupted sand that’s a great walking route towards Great Yarmouth’s pier. Slightly further north is Caister-on-Sea, the UK’s first ever holiday park that continues to reinvent itself as a stellar place to stay. To the south, there’s Hopton, close to Gorleston-on-Sea and the Suffolk border, and inland bordering the broads you’ll find Wild Duck, a forested park set amongst the trees. All are great bases for discovering the delights of Great Yarmouth.
