Orchards Holiday Village

Just got back from a Monday to Friday trip. The caravan was a bronze . It was clean but nothing special . So next time I'd just go for a saver. We had a sticky floor in the main living room and got told there wasn't any staff to help so we got left a bucket outside . The campsite was very basic and nothing really there. Parks could definitely be updated and more in them. Swimming was standard and needs updating. Nothing for kids to do and changing rooms were really dirty. Baby changing room was out of service the whole holiday!. The people that come to this site during school term all seem to know each other in big groups with older teenagers everywhere. Big groups with loud party's everywhere Good points : Location with the beach within seconds of a walk was really good and enjoyed that. staff in the arcades were really lovely and really rushed off their feet in the evenings. There was a lady with pink hair (she had no Name badge on) was really friendly and made our holiday. Unfortunately we wouldn't come back as it's not worth the drive over but it was ok.

Currently staying at haven orchards holiday Village staff were on the gate were polite and helpful but that's where it went down hill the caravan was dusty and stunk of smoke there was tobacco on the sofa in the lounge the bathroom floor was dirty I couldn't be bothered to complain as I was knackered after a 5 hr journey that should of taken 2 hrs. Anyway me and my partner went for a Sunday dinner at the mash and barrel with a coke and a tea it was £36 the dinner came out about 2 minutes of ordering it I thought that was quick then I could see why. The meat was tuff veg was hard roast potatoes 2 each were soft like mash and the graveywas so watery we didn't enjoy our meal at all. Basically avoid this park as its very run down dirty smelly and not a nice place to stay.

We had a really lovely stay at Haven Orchards Holiday Park and would definitely recommend it for a family getaway. Our caravan was in a beautiful spot overlooking a pond, which made it feel extra peaceful and relaxing. It was such a nice view to wake up to each morning and added something special to the whole trip. There’s plenty to keep everyone entertained, especially the play parks and range of activities available around the park. It’s a great place for families, with lots of space for kids to explore and enjoy themselves. The only downside for us was the swimming facilities. While there is a pool, we felt the options were a bit limited, and unfortunately the outdoor pool was closed during our stay, which was a shame. Overall though, we had a great holiday. A lovely location, plenty to do, and a relaxing atmosphere — we’d happily return!

Orchards is a fabulous Haven holiday village. The static caravans are well kept and very comfortable. We had an accessible caravan which was well equipped. There is so much to do for all the family although it is a shame that entertainment passes have to be bought (on top of holiday cost) and then you have to book and pay extra for most kids activities. The indoor swimming is free with the pass but it must be booked beforehand. I suggest you continually look at your booking for when the dates and times come available to book, as they fill up really quick. There is a very adequate outdoor pool which is great on warm days ( remember it is a lido and the water is cold!!) The food available across all areas is superb. The table service via QR codes/app works really well. A thoroughly enjoyable break. We will certainly return!

We’ve recently just returned from a caravan break at Orchards Caravan Park in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, and overall we did have a lovely time, especially with the beautiful weather. First of all, our caravan was immaculately clean, which was a huge relief after reading some previous reviews before arriving. We were also in a great location on site, close to everything, including the pool. I’m very glad we packed scooters for the children as they came in very handy getting around. Unfortunately, the swimming pool facilities were a bit disappointing. The pool itself seemed okay at first, but it was actually quite dirty, and the changing rooms were filthy. There were clumps of hair, eyelashes floating in the pool, and overall it didn’t feel very clean, which was quite unpleasant. The evening entertainment for children also needs improvement. My children would have loved something simple like a kids’ disco, but they quickly lost interest in what was on offer. You could clearly see other children losing interest too, as the dance floor kept emptying until music was played to encourage them back. I do think the early evening children’s entertainment definitely needs reviewing. We were also really disappointed that the fish and chip van was closed for the entire duration of our stay. When you’re away at the seaside, fish and chips feels like a must-have treat, and our children were really looking forward to it. The nearest chip shop was too far of a drive for us, so that was a real shame. Despite these issues, we still enjoyed our stay and had a lovely family break overall. With a few improvements, particularly around cleanliness in the pool area and children’s entertainment, this site could be even better.
