Orchards is an action-packed Holiday Village with activities such as Archery Coaching and Junior Segways for the whole family to take on! There’s two coarse fishing lakes and a challenging nine-hole golf course to take a swing at too. Not forgetting both an indoor and an outdoor pool for splashing fun! If you fancy exploring the local area, the maritime town of Brightlingsea is nearby with daily boat trips and a sandy beach.

Orchards is a fabulous Haven holiday village. The static caravans are well kept and very comfortable. We had an accessible caravan which was well equipped. There is so much to do for all the family although it is a shame that entertainment passes have to be bought (on top of holiday cost) and then you have to book and pay extra for most kids activities. The indoor swimming is free with the pass but it must be booked beforehand. I suggest you continually look at your booking for when the dates and times come available to book, as they fill up really quick. There is a very adequate outdoor pool which is great on warm days ( remember it is a lido and the water is cold!!) The food available across all areas is superb. The table service via QR codes/app works really well. A thoroughly enjoyable break. We will certainly return!

I stayed in Hollows 21. The rooms were okay overall, and although the bedding was fresh, the general cleanliness wasn’t great. The carpet was noticeably dirty and needed a proper clean. A few maintenance issues also stood out, such as broken hooks and drawers. The gentleman running the craft club was brilliant, and the water‑jets staff were also great. However, the site itself feels quite tired. Even the signage for each area could do with repainting or replacing. It feels like the place could be vastly improved with some fairly small updates. The outside pool, although relatively new, already needs attention. Several signs have fallen off, and the whole area needs cleaning, especially where bird mess has built up. The locks in the outdoor changing rooms were all broken, so I had to physically hold the door shut for my boys while they changed. The indoor pool wasn’t much better. There was a green layer floating on the water, and the giant water tap feature still wasn’t working. The changing rooms were either dirty or had doors that didn’t lock. A deep clean and some basic repairs would make a huge difference. The arcade area could also be improved. It used to have more driving and shooting games, but now it’s mostly claw machines and coin pushers. The toilet inside has been refurbished, but the doors leading in were sticky and really need replacing. Unfortunately, we were mainly surrounded by owners, and they felt it was acceptable to play karaoke until 1am. During the day, their children were often unsupervised, riding electric bikes up and down without helmets. My car was hit multiple times by footballs and was sprayed with liquid from a fidget toy, which was difficult to remove after it dried in the sun. On two occasions, a small child even climbed over our balcony to retrieve something they had thrown. It’s a good site with a lot of potential, but I was disappointed by the lack of maintenance and the poor supervision of children in the area.

I don’t normally leave reviews as I’m not one to complain but this holiday was without a doubt the worst caravan holiday park I’ve ever been too. Myself and my partner and our 3 children alongside my mother and nephew stayed here for 7 nights on the 29th may until the 5th June 2026. The staff on arrival and receiving caravan keys were polite and most helpful, we proceeded to our home on wheels for the week and we were amazed it looked well cleaned , fresh bedding and a lovely decking area safe and sturdy as my eldest son is Autistic so this was a great outdoor space and it had a beautiful view. All things started off great, now previous to our holiday I called many times to confirm this caravan had eveything we needed and to ask about the park itself like “booking” the activities as my children were most excited to get in the swimming pools and explore other activities, and unfortunately I was told I didn’t need to book as this booking was during a off-peak season. So I didn’t and much to my disappointment we were only able to go swimming once as I found a few spaces available during the week we had. And as for the other activities on site like bike hiring , slime making we had missed out on. It was almost like the staff picked when they were open. We had 4 days of hot weather and the outside pool opened once, the only thing that stayed opened was the arcade which was run down and filthy. The clubhouse and entertainment were rubbish each night , one night we had a “entertainer” making innuendos. drinks and food at the mash and barrel are overpriced and the food was dreadful. Among all of this back to the caravan our double bed matress stunk of fish with stains all over and hairs found in bed, I had no choice but to sleep on sofa bed with my 1 year old and partner. And not forgetting my two sons playing on the floor with there toys and getting bites all down there legs. When spoked to reception and members of staff walking around we were told “I’ll get someone to help” and no one did, when asked about facilities opening nobody knew. It felt like we were sitting around all day waiting to go to the arcades again and again. The Burger King and papa johns on site are really good and being able to get it delivered to your caravan is a great idea as it’s still hot and fresh. But Not many places to get delivered outside of the park as they also shut very early as it’s a small town. We also went to clacton-on-sea pier, that was incredible lovely beach , lovely seaside food and great attractions. Great day out. Unfortunately we won’t be back , I’m still waiting to hear back from the help and support team at haven. Very disappointed about this.

Just got back from a Monday to Friday trip. The caravan was a bronze . It was clean but nothing special . So next time I'd just go for a saver. We had a sticky floor in the main living room and got told there wasn't any staff to help so we got left a bucket outside . The campsite was very basic and nothing really there. Parks could definitely be updated and more in them. Swimming was standard and needs updating. Nothing for kids to do and changing rooms were really dirty. Baby changing room was out of service the whole holiday!. The people that come to this site during school term all seem to know each other in big groups with older teenagers everywhere. Big groups with loud party's everywhere Good points : Location with the beach within seconds of a walk was really good and enjoyed that. staff in the arcades were really lovely and really rushed off their feet in the evenings. There was a lady with pink hair (she had no Name badge on) was really friendly and made our holiday. Unfortunately we wouldn't come back as it's not worth the drive over but it was ok.

We had a really lovely stay at Haven Orchards Holiday Park and would definitely recommend it for a family getaway. Our caravan was in a beautiful spot overlooking a pond, which made it feel extra peaceful and relaxing. It was such a nice view to wake up to each morning and added something special to the whole trip. There’s plenty to keep everyone entertained, especially the play parks and range of activities available around the park. It’s a great place for families, with lots of space for kids to explore and enjoy themselves. The only downside for us was the swimming facilities. While there is a pool, we felt the options were a bit limited, and unfortunately the outdoor pool was closed during our stay, which was a shame. Overall though, we had a great holiday. A lovely location, plenty to do, and a relaxing atmosphere — we’d happily return!
