Our best UK glamping sites
Glamping was first coined as a term back in 2005, and it’s been on an unstoppable rise ever since. Events of the 2020s have propelled not only the term, but the concept itself to new heights, with glamping sites popping up all over the UK and beyond.
Glamping simply showcases the cool and hip side of the staycation in a nutshell, or as seasoned glampers would call it: a yurt, safari tent or any other term taken from an ever-growing plethora of accommodation types. The concept perfectly combines the luxury, or necessity of having a solid roof over your head with the escapism and connection to your surroundings that classic camping brings to the table.
At Haven, we’re enthusiastically riding the wave of this unstoppably popular way to escape to the great outdoors, and in our case, another great way to go on a break to the beautiful British seaside. Allow us to point you in the direction of the places we think you should have on your radar for your next trip. This special shortlist of pre-pitched delights has been handpicked by the Haven team and brought to life on our parks to bring our guests one of the best glamping experiences the UK has to offer.
Perran Sands, Cornwall
Perran Sands is one of our greatest caravan parks and one of the best glamping sites in the UK. Nestled on a picturesque stretch of the north Cornwall coast, this gem is home to a whole host of features that have given it a great spectrum of guests that keep coming back for more. Adjacent to the park is Perranporth Beach, widely regarded as one of Cornwall’s finest in what is a county of endless amazing stretches of sand. As well as the park’s delicious dining options (which includes a super-handy supermarket to stock up in your top-notch tent), there’s a fantastic array of essentials like toilets, showers and launderettes just steps from your glamping accommodation.
The biggest challenge at Perran Sands is choosing which type of glamping to go with. Yurts, Geo Domes and Supertents are exclusively hosted here, each with their own style and charm. The natural light afforded to you by your Yurt adds the icing on the cake to any escape, the Geo Domes modern furnishings bring a new level of comfort to your camp and Supertents are suitably spacious with three bedrooms and space for up to six guests. Whichever base you go with, you’ll be spending quality time with your loved ones at a great UK glamping site.
Delightful Dorset is the final stop in our glamorous glamping line up, represented by our park at Seaview. This place does exactly what it says on tin, with a fantastic vantage point of Weymouth Bay and the wider English Channel just a few short steps from all the on-park action. Bowleaze Cove is a great place to experience this in all its glory, which in turn isn’t a million miles from famous Weymouth, a town steeped in the history books of the British seaside. You’ll be within easy reach of the incredible Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, simply named but hosting one of the most interesting natural coastal phenomena at Chesil Beach, its sand being separated from the coast by the unique East Fleet.
Safari Tents make another stellar appearance at Seaview, giving guests another great Haven UK glamping site to pick from. Try your hand at some cooking in the kitted-out kitchen, the supermarket selling fresh Co-op produce is just a short walk away from the heart of Dorset glamping.
Rockley Park, Dorset
More than just an alternative Dorset place to glamp, Rockley Park is home to some of most exclusive areas in the unrivalled Haven repertoire of parks. You’ll be in another incredible area on south coast here, at the Rock Lea River which forms the beautiful Lytchett Bay. Just a stone’s throw from Poole and its magnificent harbour, you’re positioned at the heart of the reason why so many staycationers pick this part of the country for a break away from the hustle and bustle.
As if the location wasn’t enough, Rockley Park’s exclusive Pods give you an extra special reason to pick this as your next place to stay. A real of slice of luxury, they’re the pinnacle of everything glamping and a great, private space in which you and the loved ones are sure to make memories that last a lifetime.
