Top 5 things to do near Perran Sands and on park

Megan Gibson is Head of Experience at Perran Sands Holiday Park in Cornwall, which is surrounded by three miles of golden sands and part of a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

With so much to do both on the park and in the local area, Megan talks us through her top five things to do.

1. Try out our latest activities

The outdoor climbing wall has been a great hit - guests absolutely love it. We advertise it as being brave and adventurous for over 7s, so even if they’re only getting half way up it’s a credit to the children to see them do that. And as soon as they see it, they want to go on it.

Batfast, where you hit balls from a virtual bowler, is also quite new and people love it – especially for the fact that they can hire it privately and have an exclusive family event in there. It’s great to boost skills for people who want to do badminton or tennis and it’s great fun.

2. Explore with the Rangers

2. Explore with the Rangers

People absolutely love our Rangers Activities. The kids love being outdoors and taking part in activities like den-building and firelighting techniques. People just love being out and exploring, being out in the sand dunes and taking tours around the park.

3. Meet the animals at Dairyland and Newquay Zoo

Dairyland Farm Park is only about 10 minutes away, it’s great for all weathers and it caters for all ages. You can meet and pet animals and there’s soft play too.

There’s also Newquay Zoo which is about 15 minutes away and is great for the whole family. Who doesn’t love animals?!

4. Hit the beach and ride some waves

4. Hit the beach and ride some waves

We have direct beach access, although it’s quite steep, with three miles of golden sand on our doorstep. And surfing is a huge hit here - the amount of positive comments we get through about it is amazing. It's great that so many people have learnt to surf here and it’s a great holiday memory to take away.

5. Visit Healeys Cyder Farm

Healeys Cyder Farm is great if you’ve just got adults in your party, it’s only down the road and you can go gin tasting and cider tasting. It’s a great place to experience a real local, Cornish cider – Rattler.

Why do you love Perran Sands?

The views of where we are are totally breathtaking. You see the photos from guests and you wouldn’t think you were in Cornwall. They are really out of this world.

We’re unique in that we have a wide variety of accommodation types too, from caravans to chalets and glamping in geo domes in luxury safari tents that look like sand dunes.
