Best water parks in Sussex
Sussex has a long stretch of coastline with some excellent beaches and clean seas. However, despite the sunny weather of the South, conditions aren’t always ideal for swimming. Fortunately, Sussex has plenty to choose from in the way of water-based facilities including lidos, leisure centres and aqua parks. This means that you will have somewhere to splash around on those days when swimming in the sea isn’t an option.
Whether you’ve got some water babies with you or are simply looking to escape the summer heat yourself, we’ve got the ideal destination for you in this list of the best water parks in Sussex. All these options are within a short drive from our Combe Haven and Church Farm holiday parks. So, before you grab your swimming costumes, goggles, water wings and towels you can make sure you get the right venue for you.

1. Combe Haven Holiday Park

Address: Harley Shute Rd, Hastings, Saint Leonards-on-Sea TN38 8BZ
Choosing a holiday park with an indoor swimming pool and facilities guarantees weatherproof fun. At Combe Haven Holiday Park, we may enjoy above average hours of sunshine for the UK, but we make sure to give you a more than adequate backup. In fact, the indoor pool facilities at Combe Haven (SplashZone) are second to none.
With Aqua Jets and Aqua Paddlers to enjoy, your kids won’t know where to start. The Space Bowl flume is a fitting centrepiece, while the panoramic views of historic Hastings that you’ll be treated to from the top are just the icing on the cake.
2. Arundel Lido, Arundel

Address: Queen St, Arundel BN18 9JG
Our favourite water park in Sussex! The water is clean, warm and there cannot be a better backdrop to swim with than Arundel Castle. While the lido is closed for the winter, it’s a hive of activity in the summer and is particularly popular among the locals. In fact, it has become so popular in recent years that getting hold of tickets can actually be a little difficult.
It’s not surprising as it is undeniably a lovely spot, but we’d recommend that you book well in advance. There are a range of options from adult lane swimming to casual paddling and family swims, too. The Bootcamp sessions are also great with outdoor circuits in the company of a friendly bunch of fitness fans.
3. Saltdean Lido, Brighton

Address: The Oval Park, Saltdean Park Road, Saltdean, Brighton BN2 8SP
Built in the 1930s, this beautiful Art Deco lido is one of the only Grade II-listed swimming pools in the UK. Once branded as "the seventh wonder of the English seaside", it fell into disrepair before being refurbished in 2017. The pool retained its beautiful architecture but is now a great temperature, refreshingly clean, and carefully managed to avoid overcrowding.
The crescent-shaped tank is a safe place for serious swimmers, day-trippers and families thanks to the staff presence who are all competent and well-versed at making sure people have an enjoyable visit.
4. Bewl Water Aqua Park, Lamberhurst
Address: Bewl Water, Bewlbridge Ln, Lamberhurst, Wadhurst TN3 8JH
When it opened in 2019, the Bewl Water Aqua Park soon became one of the most popular summer attractions in the Southeast. The 3,000 square metre reservoir-based floating obstacle course owes its popularity to the hordes of adventure seekers and sport enthusiasts that have visited to enjoy it over the last few years.
In 2021 even more elements were added to the floating, making the course bigger than ever, and the stock of wetsuits has also been increased to 500 to account for its popularity, these come in all sizes from six years old and up. The fun is certainly not limited to kids - couples, groups of friends, and even bigger groups such as hen and stag parties all welcome at Bewl Water.
5. Bexhill Leisure Pool
Address: Ravenside Retail Park, Bexhill-on-Sea TN40 2JS
Bexhill Leisure Pool is a handy choice from Combe Haven. Its main pool is designed for fun rather than serious training: there’s a wave machine (running during family sessions) and a spiralling flume that’s the star attraction. Do check the timetable in advance to make sure both are operating during your visit.
If someone in your group prefers a steadier swim, there’s also a 25m pool for lengths, plus aquafit classes and swimming lessons. You’ll also find a small gym and a health suite at Ravenside (perfect if you want to sneak in a workout or a quick sauna while everyone else is splashing around!).
6. The Sovereign Centre, Eastbourne

Address: Royal Parade, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN22 7LQ
The Sovereign Centre is a big-ticket option: a large leisure venue on Eastbourne’s seafront where the pool is only part of the deal. The leisure pool is the fun zone, with a wave machine, waterslides and a shallow beach-style area that’s great for warming up before you get the adrenalin pumping. At key times they also run an inflatable assault course on the water, which is a great challenge. Check the timetable if that’s your main reason for going.
There’s a 25m training pool for lane swimming, plus a learner pool for anyone who wants calmer water. This is ideal if your group has different energy levels, because you can split your time between slides and lengths without changing venue. Away from the pool, there’s a big gym and a programme of classes and lessons, plus soft play for smaller kids.
Afterwards you’re right by the promenade, making it easy to stretch the day with a walk along the front. Holiday sessions can get lively, so arrive early, and expect usual slide rules like height limits and one-at-a-time runs.
7. Hailsham Leisure Centre
Address: Vicarage Lane, Hailsham BN27 1BA
For a pool day with a bit of variety built in, Hailsham Leisure Centre is a great pick witing easy reach of Combe Haven. The high point is the flume, which runs at weekends and during school holidays. They also run pool inflatable sessions at certain times, with the following rule: swimmers must be aged 8+ and able to swim 25 metres. Confident kids and teens are best suited to this challenge.
The centre has a lot more to offer too. There’s a gym and fitness classes for anyone who likes to keep moving, and an on-site café serving Costa coffee, milkshakes, sandwiches and sweet treats. There are extra family activities onsite too, including bowling and soft play, handy if you’re trying to plan a full afternoon rather than a single hour in the water.
8. Splashpoint Leisure Centre, Worthing
Address: 60 Brighton Road, Worthing, West Sussex BN11 2EN
Splashpoint in Worthing is a modern centre that’s easy to reach from Church Farm, offering an experience more city orientated than seaside. The swimming pools are split into different spaces, suitable for a range of activities. There’s a 25m pool for lengths, and a separate leisure pool with a flume and play features. If you’ve got a mixed group, you might do the fun part first, then slow it down with a calmer swim afterwards.
Away from the water, Splashpoint has plenty going on. There’s a large fitness suite, studios for classes, and a health suite with sauna and steam room. To turn it into a treat day, try their spa and treatment rooms. There’s a café on site too, giving you the chance to refuel without leaving the building.
9. The Triangle Leisure Centre, Burgess Hill

Address: Triangle Way, Burgess Hill RH15 8WA
For a more “waterpark-style” indoor centre, The Triangle in Burgess Hill ticks most boxes. Their fun pool sessions are built around flumes and fast-moving rapids, with interactive features and a shallow area for less experienced swimmers. In summer, they open an outdoor lido, meaning you can swap indoor splashing for fun in the sunshine when the weather permits.
The Triangle stands out as a full leisure complex, rather than just a pool. It has a modern gym, a health suite with sauna, steam room and spa pool, plus family extras like soft play and party sessions. There’s even a Costa on site to grab a hot drink while everyone dries off. Make sure you book the popular Fun Splash & Slide sessions in advance, especially in school holidays.
10. Rye Leisure Centre
Address: The Grove, Rye, East Sussex TN31 7ND
Rye Leisure Centre is a good “swim and explore” option close to Combe Haven, especially if you’re planning a wander round Rye’s cobbled streets. The centre has a 25-metre indoor pool and a sauna. Keep it simple with a quick swim and a warm-up afterwards.
There's also a well-equipped gym (cardio, resistance machines and free weights), two studios for classes, and a sports hall with courts for sports including badminton or five-a-side. Outside, there’s a floodlit 3G pitch. There’s also a café/lounge area with free Wi-Fi serving hot and cold drinks and snacks, where you can relax before heading back into town.

Let2offset - make no site fee payments until 2032
Let2offset is a contractual lettings product that offers eligible owners a guaranteed letting income at a preferential rate (calculated each year) in exchange for a stipulated number of letting breaks. It also allows eligible owners to pay their site fees and receive their letting income in 12 equal monthly instalments; the monthly site fee amount charged by Haven will be after deduction of the letting income.
‘Make no site fee payments until 2032 when using Let2offset’ is available at 33 Haven parks excluding Burnham, Cardigan View, Far Grange, Garreg Wen, Lydstep Beach, Riviere Sands and Seaview. The letting income received will vary by make, model and location. The monthly site fee payment does not include running costs e.g. utilities, rates & insurance.
“Make no site fee payments until 2032 when using Let2offset” is applicable to new and existing customer purchases of new Victory Ashberry 3 Bed or equivalent grade holiday home purchases made through Haven where customers have also signed up to Haven’s Let2offset contract. It is not applicable to private sales and cannot be used in conjunction with our free Site Fee promotion. An example of how “Make no site fee payments until 2032 when using Let2offset” operates under Let2offset is the purchase of a Victory Ashberry 3 Bed holiday home at Seton Sands with a monthly site fee of £667.08 (includes purchasing discount of £17.08) and monthly letting income of £673.17. The monthly difference equates to £23.17, which will be credited to the owner's account. Both letting income and site fees are subject to yearly pricing reviews and inflation. The monthly site fee costs and letting income shown in the example are based on 2025 figures. Modelled assumptions on expected annual site fee and letting income charges over the 7-year lettable life of the Victory Ashberry 3 Bed indicate that under Let2offset it is anticipated that these customers will continue to receive a monthly credit during this period, however, this is not guaranteed. The modelled assumptions are based on the historical performance of Haven over the past 5 years of trading as of 2024. Images are shown for representational purposes.
