Best places to eat in Chichester

Chichester is a city packed full of Roman history rife for cultural exploration - but there’s always time to stop for a bite to eat and drink.

Research found that Chichester has the highest number of restaurants per capita, with one eatery for every 154 people living in the city. So with our Church Farm Holiday Park just six miles away, the main trouble you’ll face is choosing somewhere for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Below we’ve put together a list of our top recommendations for the best restaurants in Chichester.

1. Cassons Restaurant

Cuisine: Modern British

Address: Arundel Road, Tangmere PO18 0DU

Cassons offers modern British fine dining in a passionately run restaurant with exposed brick and a rustic feel. Dishes are cooked in classical style with bold flavours, but are generously proportioned to ensure you leave happy. Expand your culinary horizons with wood pigeon to start, South Downs lamb rump for mains or a host of other options from the exquisite a la carte menu. They also have a great Sunday lunch menu, detailed wine list and run regular gourmet evenings.

2. Thyme & Chillies

2. Thyme & Chillies

They have two sites - one in Chichester city centre and another in Birdham.

3. Viento Delevante

Cuisine: Mediterranean

Address: Victoria Court, 24 St Pancras, Chichester PO19 7LT

Grab a taste of Spain at Viento Delevante with mouth-watering tapas made slightly larger than traditionally done. Reserve a table to avoid disappointment as they get busy and tuck into patatas bravas, lamb meatballs, peeled king prawns and so much more on the expansive menu including cocktails. You can collect a takeaway to eat at your van, but the restaurant is just a short walk from the city centre.

4. Reina Kitchen

Cuisine: Turkish

Address: 11/12 Market Road, Chichester PO19 1JW

Authentic Turkish eatery Reina Kitchen is family run and provides itself on delivering top-drawer standards in a warm atmosphere. Their highly-trained team combines the freshest local produce with traditional Turkish herbs and spices imported from organic farms in Northern Turkey to create authentic meze, vegetarian moussaka and grilled fish and meats.

5. Artie's Kitchen

5. Artie's Kitchen

Cuisine: Spanish

Address: 33 Southgate, Chichester PO19 1DP

Another tasty tapas spot, Artie’s Kitchen only uses authentic ingredients sourced and imported from small Spanish suppliers. Opening in September 2015, head chef Abraham from Murcia and second chef Adrian from Sevilla, bring a deep understanding of the flavours, techniques and ingredients that are so unique to their Spanish tapas. They encourage you to share so order a few plates, sit back and enjoy.
