Hidden Disabilities Sunflower: Making Haven more inclusive

Haven has committed to training more than 80% of Haven's on-park team to recognise the Sunflower and understand more about non-visible disabilities. Our park team will be able to recognise some guests may need a little extra time, patience, or support during their visit and will simply ask, "How can I help you?" to any guest wearing the Sunflower.

It's all part of our initiative to ensure Haven is more inclusive and welcoming, and that our holidays are even more accessible to everyone.

With non-visible disabilities often harder for others to identify, the Sunflower lanyard helps greatly by making it clearer to understand.

Wearing it offers a discreet way to indicate to the Haven team that you have a non-visible disability and may need extra help and support .

It can give the wearer extra confidence, while it provides a visual cue for those around them to acknowledge that they may need additional support.

The Sunflower was chosen as it's distinctive, joyful and can clearly be recognised from a distance.

Launched in 2016, Hidden Disabilities Sunflower has been at the forefront of raising awareness and understanding of non-visible disabilities .

It has helped to encouraged greater understanding and support for people who whose disabilities may not be immediately obvious to others.

The Sunflower offers an effective way for people to communicate discreetly that they may need additional support.

By becoming a Sunflower member, Haven is taking another big step toward making sure there's a more inclusive and understanding environment for those with disabilities.
