Whether big or small, every donation really does help in the fight against cancer. The money Cancer Research UK raises goes a long way in helping to pay for vital equipment, including costs for expensive research.

£5: Buys a box of 100 test tubes; vital tools for every laboratory experiment conducted.

£20: Buys a lab timer to keep scientists on track for each experiment.

£60: Buys a microscopic lens, meaning Cancer Research UK's scientists can focus on every little detail in their fight to beat cancer.

£400: Buys a microscope camera to take images of cancer cells and share around the world with researchers.

£1700: Buys a diamond knife, used to cut ultra-thin slices of cells to be studied under a microscope.
