Golden Sands Holiday Park

Great family holiday park. lots to see and do the staff are truly fab there is plenty going on night and day there is an onsite shop to get the bits and bobs that you need for your holiday the pool is lovely the outside one is a bit chilly but again great fun. They have added an outside stage a couple of years ago which is great in the summer to get a cold drink and watch what's going on there plenty for the kids to day as well with the clubs that are run daily

Nice site but quite dated in some areas and not much to do for younger children, apart from paid activities. We stayed in a private hire caravan which was lovely. The site is quite big so if you're not close to the main entertainment, restaurant & activities it could be a long walk. Also we weren't sure if it's part of the caravan cleaning process but lots of the caravans had dirty bedding lying on the floor outside. We could understand if they were to be collected shortly after being put outside but when left all day in the rain/wind it makes the site look untidy and unpleasant. The beach is off-site and about a 10-15min walk from the site depending on where your caravan is located. We tried the restaurant which was disappointing with an hour wait for food, grumpy servers, small servings and average food. I highly recommend booking the swimming sessions before your holiday as it was fully booked for the whole week we were there. The entertainment was mixed some nights were great and others they repeated the exact same programme from the night before. We'd expect some repetition but the exact same songs and quiz questions as the day before was disappointing. The soft play area was a letdown with it being a tiny space and not staffed so it was full of older children the entire time and felt unsafe for smaller children. I understand it's the parents responsibility but even a sign with the recommended ages for the area would've helped. Overall we had a pleasant stay but probably won't be returning as we've had better experiences at other Haven sites.

Caravan brilliant. Site decant enough. The security on the gate helpful. Apart from one bad experience with a security guard who was on at evening on 12/6/26. We had been hear all week and only had couple days left. We had been out for the day came back and he was booking people in so bit of que to get back in the site. My 2 year old was getting restless. So sat him on my knee while we waiting. It was then our turn to go through barrier. We was stopped by the security man n he said it is illigal to drive on site with toddler on knee (with attidue) n told me put him in his seat. So I said ok sorry will do. I rolled forward so cars behind can get past. I put my 2 year old in seat and guard walked over shouting to put him in seat ( wich I allready had done) and then he was taking pictures of my car. His attitude is horrendous and made not want be hear. The guy needs remember people are hear for a chilled holiday. People will make mistakes and needs speak to them respect not with bad attitude 😡.. Other then that it's been enjoyable

This is the second time we have stayed here and we've throughly enjoyed it both time. The first time there was 4 adults and 2 children in a 3 bedroom bronze caravan. The second time it was just myself, partner and child in a 2 bedroom bronze caravan and we were pleasantly surprised. It was extremely spacious and we even had a on suit

We stayed in Caravan 13 on Holly Drive from 23 May 2026 and unfortunately our experience at Golden Sands was very disappointing. On arrival, our caravan was not ready on time and there were several cleanliness issues which were reported within the first hour, as required. The condition of the caravan left me questioning whether it had been properly prepared for guests. Although additional bedding was eventually provided and overflowing bins were emptied after being pointed out, the attitude we encountered felt dismissive rather than helpful. Around the park, particularly near Maple Rise, there was soiled bedding left outside for extended periods. Aside from looking untidy, this raised concerns about hygiene and infection control on what is supposed to be a family holiday park. We also had a faulty toaster for most of our stay. Although I reported this and was told it would be dealt with, nothing happened. I later discovered Haven claimed it had never been reported, which was frustrating. What stood out throughout the holiday was how stressed and overwhelmed many staff members appeared. While I appreciate holiday parks can be busy, this often affected how guests were spoken to and treated. My children took part in the frame-making and sand bottle activities. During the sand bottle session, the staff member running it appeared visibly stressed and spoke sharply to guests, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. More concerningly, she attempted to prevent us from sitting down during the activity. My mother is disabled and needed a seat immediately; had she remained standing, she could easily have fallen. I found this particularly disappointing and not at all inclusive of guests with accessibility needs. By the end of the holiday, I had simply had enough. Despite the issues we experienced, I still cleaned the caravan as best I could before leaving. We ended up departing early, at around 7:30am on the morning of our departure, because we were ready to get home. The most frustrating aspect wasn't any single issue but the overall lack of accountability and customer care. At several points during our stay, we felt dismissed rather than listened to. While my children still managed to enjoy parts of the holiday, the overall experience fell well below the standard I would expect from Haven and Golden Sands. A refund of the check-in fee does not adequately reflect the inconvenience and disappointment we experienced. Sadly, this was not the relaxing family holiday we had hoped for, and significant improvements are needed in both housekeeping standards and customer service.
