We booked the saver option for the caravan and we were pleasantly surprised how clean it was. How good the location was in the park. There's lots to see and do here at Craig Tara. The weather was amazing which definitely helped our experience. There is a farm located right next door which was fantastic pricing you could stay from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. everything was very accessible. We went into air for the day to see around ourselves is so good in this location and the sea and everything we went to see culzean castle which was an amazing day especially if your trust member. Overall we were definitely be back and were very happy with our holiday

We had an amazing stay! We were here from 25th to the 29th May 2026. The location was perfect, the rooms were top-notch, and the staff were incredibly kind and enthusiastic with brilliant entertainment. We loved the facilities and the easy-to-use Haven app, and even though activities are a bit pricey, they they were well worth it. I’ve docked a star as the caravans lack Wi-Fi and phone reception, the rooms can get quite hot, and the pool changing room area cleanliness could be improved. We can't wait to come again!

We’ve been traveling all around the uk since April using havens as our place to stay, We did a Monday to Friday trip to Craig Tara to use as a base to explore Scotland. On first arrival you’re met with the beautiful views of the beach that the holiday park links to its is all down hill into the park and up hill coming out of the park but no problem if you’re in a car but may be hard for wheelchair users. We booked a silver caravan to have the balcony to take advantage of the lovely views. On arrival to the van it was filthy although the door had the sticker on saying it was ready. Not what you want after a 6 hr drive. From previous experience on another haven park we knew not to leave it and do it our selves so we went straight to reception to report it they booked the cleaners and maintenance to come to our van asap and gave us £25 complimentary vouchers for us to get a drink each while we waited when we returned the van was then spotless as it should have been before. However we did find out of all the silver vans we’ve stayed in on other haven parks, it appeared to be the most basic and dated so unless the balcony is a must you could probably book a bronze or saver van and get the same type of experience inside no thrills. The staff were all very friendly especially the pool staff. I observed while my children and husband swam as we have a small baby and I’m currently in a wheel chair the staff couldn’t be any more helpful making sure i was comfortable and had everything I needed even though it was really busy. The pool was excellent lots to do great slides and clean they had a band system to get people out before it gets overcrowded but this does mean you don’t get the hour you book because by times you get to reception changed etc and it being so busy there was huge queues you get about 35 min swim. The entertainment was great my children enjoyed it. There is plenty to do on site including a park area. It’s a great base to travel around Scotland we visited glasgow Edinburgh and Loch Lomond and a few different parts of Ayrshire which where all under 2hrs drive. We had an enjoyable experience for our first visit to Scotland.

Visted Craig Tara for 4 days, it was a nice break away and had plenty for the kids to do. The caravan we were given especially compared to others in our party was a completely different standard in our opinion even though it was a gold. I realise it's probably the luck of the draw with what you get but it should really be the same standard if you are paying £600 for 4 days. Our caravan had a smell in it. Chair in the dinner/kitchen area was broken. Chair outside on decking was broken and our bed sheets had some rips in them to us it was not up to a gold standard and was very outdated and well used with stains in sofa, carpet etc. Again if you are paying that kind of money you expect better. We reported this the day we arrived and I have to say the maintance staff are fantastic and so helpful. The swimming felt chaotic even though there were set times you book to get in for your hour slot. The staff however were great. The changing rooms aren't the best as its busy you need to wait for the shower and was not the best laid out. The swimming itself is great for kids plenty to do however nowhere to properly get your baby changed, all you get is a changing room with a bench which isn't great and hairdryers are on a different level which isn't handy. We felt it wasn't the cleanest as well but I think its down to people not cleaning up after themselves rather than staff not cleaning it. For example saw a dirty nappy that was just left on the ground and there was a bin literally 2 seconds walk from it. Not sure if we would come back as it's too much of a risk if you are paying £600 to be in for a lucky dip to get a good up to standard caravan or not.

I booked a last-minute Hideaway (so no access to the bars or entertainment) break for the bargain price of £85 Mon-Fri. I also booked a Saver caravan, the most basic one available, so my expectations were not high. I was, however, pleasantly surprised. It was clean and in decent condition and the provided bedding was crisp and white and smelled lovely. My only real criticisms would be that the "sofas" in the living area are really hard and uncomfortable and that a lot of the curtains are hanging off the rails. In fact one of the curtains in the living room was missing completely. I did report this but it never got replaced - I ended up borrowing one from one of the twin bedrooms. I can't really comment on the Park itself as, because I didn't have a Haven Pass I wasn't entitled to use the bars, arcades and other entertainment venues. I did try the fish & chip shop and whilst the fish was really good with an excellent batter, the chips were a bit of a let down. Craig Tara is very easy to find and is well placed for a lot of attractions - there is a child-friendly animal park/farm right next door for starters. Culzean Castle is only about 6 miles away and is well worth a visit. On the whole, I can have no complaints with my break at Craig Tara. It did what I wanted it to (provide me with a short break away from the issues I've been facing recently) at a very reasonable price. I would certainly stay here again.
