Dog-friendly things to do in Norfolk

The Doggie Diner, Cromer
You may never have been to such a doggy-centric place in your life! The Doggie Diner is exactly what it sounds like - a cafe made for dogs first, humans second. There’s a cracking selection of nibbles and drinks tailored just for your pooch. Will they choose a 'bonescuit', ‘pupcake’, or a brilliant doggie afternoon tea? If they’re thirsty, they can wash it all down with a chilled 'pawsecco'.
As for the two-legged customers, you’re sorted with a choice of easy snacks like soups and sandwiches. The cafe is bright and welcoming, with space for the dogs to play if they like. The dedicated staff even provide birthday parties for dogs! On sunny days, chill outside in the picnic area.

The Crown Inn, Pulham Market
At this picturesque 15th-century inn, your pooch is more than welcome to join the fun. With offerings like 'Bottom Sniffer' beer, crunchy pig ears, and even a doggy roast, they're in for a proper treat! While they dig in, you can indulge in seasonal British fare with a posh twist. The Crown Inn’s menu features modern takes on pub grub, like ribeye steak with thyme-infused shallots, or Thai soft shell crab.
Once you've had your fill, there's a load of lovely spots to stretch your legs. Take a wander through Tyrrels Wood to walk off your hearty meal.
The Barking Smack, Great Yarmouth
For a laid-back bite on the Great Yarmouth seafront, this dog-friendly pub in Norfolk aims to please. It’s a stone's throw from the beach, and has interesting circus-tent vibes to match the nearby amusements!

Carlton Marshes, Lowestoft, Suffolk
This little slice of paradise on the southernmost tip of the Broads National Park offers grazing marshes, fens, peat pools, and lush meadows. It’s right on the Norfolk-Suffolk border and has everything a nature-lover could want for a stroll in the great outdoors! Pop inside the visitor centre or peek out at the visit birds from the bird hide. Hungry? Grab a bite at the on-site restaurant.
You’ll be pleased to know that there’s wheelchair-friendly pathways that link up to more green spaces nearby, making it a doddle to explore. And of course, bring your dog for walkies but keep them on a lead at all times while you’re visiting.
Sheringham Park
This stunning chunk of the Norfolk landscape, looked after by the National Trust, is a blend of woodland, parkland, and blooming gardens with belting views of the North Norfolk coast. Dogs are welcome to join for walkies on leads.
Stroll the trails around the lake or take a load off and soak in the scenery on one of the many benches dotted around the park. Like many National Trust venues, there’s an on-site cafe, a book shop and convenient toilets.
