The Cornish coast is a wonderful spot for a break any time of the year, with dramatic cliffs, vast blue waters and a rich history. 

Our two parks here, Riviere Sands and Perran Sands, are perfectly placed for a break in the region. And below we’ve highlighted some of the many events you might catch while holidaying with us in Cornwall. 

Year-round

Heartlands parkrun 

Where: Heartlands, Pool, Redruth 

When: Every Saturday at 9am  

Everyone is welcome at Heartlands parkrun. This inclusive event is suitable for everyone, regardless of how fast you are. Buggies and dogs are also welcome! The 5k event happens on a weekly basis and is FREE to enter. Just head to parkrun UK’s website to register and get your barcode for the event.

St Piran’s Day Parade 

When: 5 March 

Where: Perranporth Beach 

Perranporth – home to our Perran Sands site – is often at the heart of the St Piran’s celebrations, and 2024 will be no different. Hundreds are expected to join the parade to celebrate Cornwall’s patron saint, making it a real sight to behold. 

Falmouth Spring Flower Show 

When: 23-24 March 

Where: Princess Pavillion, Falmouth 

Flower Power takes over Falmouth in this annual community event. Garden clubs and green-fingered amateurs display their prized flowers and plants in the hope of catching the judges’ attention and claiming victory in their category.

Rattler Fest 2024  

When: 19-20 April 

Where: Healeys Cyder Farm, Penhallow, Truro 

Known for its Rattler Cornish Cider, Healeys Cyder Farm is also popular for its annual Rattler Fest, featuring two days of live music, games, and celebrity DJs. Already on the line-up for 2024 are Scouting for Girls, Dick & Dom, and East 17, as well as a silent disco. 

Porthleven Food Festival 

When: 26-28 April 

Where: Porthleven Harbour, Truro 

Free to attend, this foodie favourite festival take place around the town’s Harbour Road, and you’ll find loads of local produce and crafts to buy, as well as live music and events to enjoy.

Tunes in the Dunes 

When: 17-19 May 
Where: Perranporth Beach

This three-day music festival is set on Perranporth’s beautiful golden sands, a setting like no other! 

Centred around the Watering Hall beach bar, and with a large main stage, it’s a relaxed setting with breathtaking views. The 2024 line-up is yet to be announced, but previous acts have included The Vaccines and The Kaiser Chiefs. 

Fowey Festival of Arts and Literature 

When: 10-18 May 
Where: Events held at Fowey Town Hall and St Fimbarrus Church, Fowey 

Inspired by author Daphne du Maurier, who took inspiration from her surroundings in Fowey, this literary festival is now in its 25th year. With a range of artistic exhibitions, writing competitions and a series of bookable talks, there’s bound to be something to capture your interest.

Hayle Carnival 

When: 29 June 

Where: Hayle Recreation Ground 

This wonderful family-friendly event features a parade, carnival performers, and some fabulous displays created by local children, it’s a key date in the Cornish calendar.

Sea Salts & Sail Festival 

When: 5-7 July 

Where: Mousehole Harbour, Penzance 

The village comes to life with scores of historic and classic boats filling the harbour for all to see. Expect an impressive sailing parade and a range of entertainment, from stalls to music and food and drink.

Fowey Royal Regatta and Carnival 

When: 18-24 August 

Where: Market Street, Fowey 

This huge annual event has a bit of everything: a boat regatta, carnival parade, swimming races, fun runs, live music and entertainment. It’s a memorable event that draws in locals and holidaymakers alike.

The Saints Way Challenge 

When: 7 September 

Where: Kernow, Padstow 

Follow a self-navigated 28-mile challenge along the Saints Way Trail, taking in some beautiful Cornish countryside and finishing in the centre of Fowey. There are checkpoints along the route and all abilities are invited to get involved.
