Once an important boat building centre, it is now a classic small South East beach resort. Fantastic for those wanting a fun filled day out as its great for Swimming; Sailing; and Jet-skiing. There is zoning for water sports and also a children's paddling pool and playground. A half pipe and ramps for skate-boarders and roller-bladers. Adjacent to the beach is a pathway with grazing marsh on one side and the sea the other. Skylarks can be heard singing and dragonflies dart over the marsh. Redshank and Lapwing can often be seen. The beach is cleaned daily during the summer Dogs not allowed between May 1st to September 30th. Pay and display parking available. Blue flag beach. MCS recommended for excellent water quality.
