Wave hello to the stunning sand and sea of the beautiful Cornish coast

Cornwall is a firm favourite for UK holidaymakers, with around 5 million of us being welcomed to the region every year. Whether you want to enjoy all the tourist sights available or simply explore its rugged beauty, the West Country has so much to offer and it’s easy to see why it continues to be such a popular destination for so many of us.

Famed internationally for its beaches, Cornwall is a surfer’s paradise. There are plenty of stunning places for you to ride the waves, with the most highly recommended including Fistral Beach, Porthtowan Beach, and Perranporth Beach – where our very own Perran Sands Holiday Park is located.

For the historians amongst you, Tintagel Castle is a must-see. Immerse yourself in the dramatic sea views, myths, and legends of this magical ruin before walking down to the beach below to visit Merlin’s cave. Amid so much history it’s easy to imagine yourself back in the ancient kingdom of King Arthur alongside the Knights of the Round Table.

The Eden project is a brilliant day out for everyone. With the largest indoor rainforest in the world, discovery trails, a canopy walkway, zip wire, climbing frames and seasonal events throughout the year this is a fun experience for the whole family – and you’ll learn lots about the environment too!

There are all manner of other great family attractions to visit in Cornwall: Newquay Zoo, the open-air Minack Theatre overlooking the sea, and Bodmin Moor are all well worth a day out if you have time to explore them.

And of course, a holiday in Cornwall wouldn’t be complete without trying a few pasties or some scrumpy cider. Cornwall is renowned for its local specialities and, in particular, its spectacular seafood restaurants, so make sure you get to try some local delicacies during your time in the West Country.
