Haven Holidays, the UK’s largest domestic holiday operator with 35 family Holiday Parks around Britain, has reported an increase of 20% in bookings last weekend compared to 2009. They say “More and more families are opting to holiday closer to home with most people choosing holiday destinations no more than 2 hours driving distance from where they live.”
Haven also reported an unprecedented number of families recognising St George’s Day on April 23rd with a weekend break – an increase of more than 25% compared to the same date last year. Many Parks are almost completely sold out, although there is still some availability for three night breaks this Friday at Caister Holiday Park in Norfolk and Golden Sands near Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire. Prices for a family of six start at £149 in a ‘Standard’ six person holiday home.
Families can still make the most of the long weekend to celebrate May Day with availability at a choice of Haven Holiday Parks around the UK.
Haven say there will be a full programme of daytime and evening entertainment at the Parks throughout the weekend including kids’ clubs, the new Summer High stage-show, character shows, touring acts and visiting cabaret. Morris Dancers, May Pole Dancing and other traditional May Day activities are likely to be on offer locally.
