This week is British Tourism Week, highlighting UK holidays and all that makes staying in Britain so special. Visit Britain have reported that 1 in 5 people will be staying in a caravan this year. With 2.5 million people choosing to stay with Haven Holidays, that many people can’t be wrong!
The parent company of Haven Holidays – Bourne Leisure – has been named as the second best big company in Britain to work for. The company, which is one of the biggest employers in Hemel Hempstead, jumped 13 places in the rankings to achieve the number 2 spot in the prestigious Sunday Times rankings.
Holidaymakers choosing to stay in the UK this year are being warned to make sure they have their holiday reserved in advance as Britain prepares for an invasion of extra tourists from overseas.
Recent research carried out by Haven Holidays amongst families shows that despite the economic doom and gloom people are still determined to take a holiday this year, saying, ‘You need a holiday for those magic moments’
But it seems more and more families are shunning overseas breaks in favour of staying in Britain.
Economic doom and gloom means more people are choosing holidays in the UK. Haven Holidays are reporting an increase in bookings of up to 40% at some of their parks as holidaymakers opt for a Great British Break.
One of the UK’s biggest leisure groups today became a patron of the NSPCC.
Haven Holidays - part of Bourne Leisure which runs family holiday parks around the country – has raised around £115,000 for the leading children’s charity over the past three years.
