Brits vote to stay at home as Britain basks under blue skies

As Britain enjoys the hottest May in eight years even more families are voting for a holiday in the UK. Haven Holidays are reporting an increase of 30% in bookings for the West Country and West Wales over the last weekend. “What’s the point of going overseas when it’s more expensive, more travelling and it’s just as hot here?” said Mr James of Haywards Heath in Sussex who recently booked a family holiday at Haven’s Perran Sands in Cornwall.

And even more people are choosing to take their own tent or caravan to the 22 Haven Holiday Parks that offer touring facilities. Bookings for Haven’s touring pitches are 50% ahead compared to the same time last year. With the current glorious sunshine and prices from as little as £6 per night for a family of four on a basic touring pitch it’s not difficult to see why - especially as the price includes Haven’s renowned facilities and entertainment programme.

Haven Holidays offer a wide choice of fantastic locations close to some of Britain’s best beaches and top attractions. Perran Sands sits directly on the South West Coast path, with direct access to one of Britain’s top surfing beaches. It’s also less than half an hour’s drive from the Eden Project. A three night weekend break in a ‘Superior’ static holiday home on June 19th costs from as little as £219 for a family of up to six people. Or take your tent for a four night midweek break at Perran Sands from June 22nd and the price starts at just £10 per night.

At Haggerston Castle in Northumberland prices start at just £129 for a three night break from June 19th for a family of six in ‘Superior’ accommodation. The Park is close to the beautiful unspoilt beaches of Northumberland and Alnwick Castle – famously used for some of the scenes in the Harry Potter movies. The extensive facilities at Haggerston Castle include a nine-hole golf course, horse riding, tennis courts and a boating lake as well as indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a choice of entertainment venues.

Haven’s Rockley Park, near Poole is perfect for watersports, offering boat storage and launching facilities from the Park directly into Poole harbour. A weekend break from June 19th costs £249 for a family of six in Superior accommodation. Dry land activities include tennis, crazy golf and a climbing activity centre.

Blue Dolphin, near Scarborough has wonderful cliff-top views. Family friendly facilities on the park include bike hire, all-weather sports courts and an indoor SportsDrome, crazy golf and a gym. Basic touring pitches at Blue Dolphin are currently available from £6 per night for a family of four.
