Hire bikes (available on all Parks) for a cycle ride, or pack your walking boots and follow some of the many designated walking trails from Haven Parks – including the South West Coast path, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the Cleveland Way. There’s fishing, horse-riding, golf or surfing.
Environmental guru Professor David Bellamy will be visiting Perran Sands in Cornwall and leading a guided walk across Penhale Sands and he’ll also be at Rockley Park, near Poole where he’ll lead a ramble across Ham Common – holidaymakers will be invited to join in at no extra charge.
Proposed activities for the Big Green Weekend include birds of prey displays, recycled sculpture and art competitions, green fancy dress, farmers’ markets and car boot sales, wildlife photography competitions, bat detecting, treasure hunts and mini-beast safaris.
