Holiday Parks in South Wales

From scarred medieval castles to some of Britain's wildest coast with secret coves and surfing hotspots, South Wales ticks all the boxes.

South Wales is full of drama. It stretches over 100 miles, from historic Chepstow and its imposing castle near the English border to the big skies and epic sea views of the jagged coast in the west.

The big draw here is Pembrokeshire, where almost 200 miles of magical shoreline is protected as a national park – home to craggy cliffs, golden sands, pretty villages and traditional seaside resorts. St David's, Britain's smallest city, nestles at its westernmost tip and attracts tourists and religious pilgrims alike.

For hikers, the Pembrokeshire Coast Path is one of Britain's most celebrated long-distance walks.

And modern-day Swansea is now emerging as a serious rival to the thriving capital, Cardiff. While Cardiff wins on shopping and culture, Swansea has its National Waterfront Museum and the poetic verse of Dylan Thomas to celebrate.

Finally, the relatively tiny but beach-rich Gower Peninsula is one of Wales’ most beautiful corners – with fantastic surfing at resorts like Caswell Bay.198

“Having lived here for 30 years, it still amazes me what joy I get from the lovely surroundings that I’m lucky enough to live in. I love to share things with my family, like a really fun day on the beach where we tried fishing and crabbing in the rockpools.”
