Its lovely when someone else does the cooking

"We were at Craig Tara the 1st week of Sept 2008, Hubby, 8yr old son, my mum and I. We went half board as it is our holiday and its lovely when someone else does the cooking, simple, but good quality food was plentiful for breakfast and tea with very nice staff in the dining room. Our apartment (2 bed basic) was clean and well set out with plenty of space, the bed was extremely comfortable to sleep in ... The site is well laid out but a lot of walking as it is huge. The leisure pool was the main attration for our waterbabe - multi level with loads of slides and flumes and not over 4ft deep anywhere was perfect for him, we all braved the flumes by the end of our stay (except mum) and enjoyed it so much we're going back in April.
A trip into Ayr was great fun too - there's an amazing (free) playpark on the sea front next to an indoor play area."

The entertainment was great in the evening

"Myself and my family went to Craig Tara in 2007 for 4 days and loved it. The boys loved that they could run around the caravan (we live in a flat and don't have a garden right outside our door so this was an absolute novelty for them!) The entertainment was great in the evening and it allowed my husband and i the opportunity to share a jug of beer whilst the kids had a ball. I will be going again this year (except this time I have 2 more additions to the family!). Thank you Craig Tara!"

The entertainment staff were amazing

"My husband & I took out two boys aged 9 and 6 to Craig Tara Haven site in Ayr Scoyland. We went with The Sun £9.50 holidays and paid the extra to go half board & I am so glad I did. The park was fantastic. There really is something for everyone and you can walk straight out onto the beach from the site. There is also 3 different bars so it is never too packed in one place. The entertainment staff were amazing ... The swimming pool was massive. I have never seen a pool like it at a Haven site & I have been to many around the UK. There was three different levels & slides to use to go down into each one. The boys were amazed, they had us in the pool everyday. Needless to say we hardly spent any money ... The half board food was amazing. Breakfast was cereal, fruit, toast, cooked breakfast everything you could imagine, in the evening there was lots of different choices. My boys loved it and have asked to go back again this year. The area outside the park is beautiful. Ayr itself has everything. The beach is clean and lovely and 5 minutes walk away & you're in the town centre. We will definitely return to this park however next time we want to go for more than 4 nights."

The swimming pool was fantastic

"We went to Craig Tara Haven in Ayr last summer we took granny along as she said she didn't do caravans we decided to up grade and went half board, the food was fantastic I kind of went over the top with the puddings!! The swimming pool was fantastic all those slides and water chutes great my wee boy loved the water buckets and sat under them for ages just so he could get splashed. The night life was great us the kids and granny loved it, although I must say that the haven team that puts on activities for the kids where abit far and between forcing us to do alot more sight seeing which was wonderful some fantastic places to visit.
Over all I would give this holiday park a 7/10 for kids activities.
10/10 for choice of food
8/10 for chalets
9/10 for the entertainment

Craig Tara has everything you need to have a great holiday with young children

"Haven's Craig Tara site in Ayr has everything you need to have a great holiday with young children. Last year my sister and I visited this park 3 times with our boys (both 3 at the time), they loved it every time. Loads of activities to choose from eg swimming pool, kids clubs, story time, soft play, evening entertainment. Also at Craig Tara you have the option of going half board where you can have your breakfast and tea in the restaurant, it has loads to choose from and would please even the fussy eaters! Overall a great holdiay at great prices!!!"
